Petromat and Overlay

Hot Oil applied to bind the Petromat fabric to existing asphalt.

Petromat fabric is applied between the existing pavement and the overlay to prevent reflective cracking and to help form a waterproof barrier.

Overlay Process
Asphalt overlays repair damage to existing pavement by applying a new layer of asphalt over the old using SS-1 tack oil or equivalent as a binder between the two layers.
